Players will be able to remap or deactivate specific buttons on the controller, adjust stick sensitivity, and swap stick caps between standard, high dome, and low dome modes depending on their grip preference.
Sony (SONY) has revealed a new wireless controller for the PlayStation 5 called the “DualSense Edge.”
There are also two sets of swappable back buttons on the new controller, along with replaceable sticks
People who purchase the new controller will also be able to save multiple profiles for specific games, i.e. one profile for a first-person shooter game and another profile for race car game. Controller profiles can be accessed through a settings menu found directly on the controller.
The DualSense Edge controller comes with a USB Type-C cable with a connector housing, and a carrying case that also acts as a charging station.
Sony has yet to announce when the new controller will be available or how much it will cost to purchase, but there is speculation it will land in stores this fall in time for the year-end holidays.
Sony’s stock is down 34% this year and trading at $84.02 U.S. per share.
Sony is marketing the controller as being “ultra customizable.”
