Sony (SONY) has unveiled its hotly anticipated next-generation PlayStation virtual reality (VR) headset.
The headset, which is called the “VR2” and is compatible with the PlayStation 5 gaming console, is lighter and nimbler than the original VR headset that came out in 2016. The VR2 headset also includes a lens adjustment dial and an updated vent design.
Sony didn’t reveal the official release date or price for the VR2 headset, but the original VR unit cost $399 U.S. when it first launched six years ago.
Sony previously revealed that its new VR headset will include 4K high-definition displays, with 2,000 x 2,040-pixel resolution per eye, and 90Hz and 120Hz frame rates.
The newest virtual reality headset also comes with an exclusive game in the form of “Horizon: Call of the Mountain,” a spinoff of PlayStation’s popular Horizon video game series.
